Loop data shows stars could be aligning for Biffle

Greg Biffle's standings climb began with his New Hampshire win. But it likely won't end there.

The remaining schedule in the Chase for the Sprint Cup sets up almost perfectly for Biffle. He has been strong at most of the upcoming tracks, starting with this weekend's venue, Dover International Speedway.

Nine tracks remain, of which seven have already hosted a race earlier this season.

Below are Biffle's 2008 stats from those seven tracks:

Biffle has had "poor" outings this season at three of the remaining Chase tracks -- Talladega, Martinsville and Texas. But in the other four, Biffle scored top-10 finishes and Driver Ratings of at least 95.0.

Arguably more promising for Biffle are the two tracks that have yet to host a 2008 Cup Series race: Kansas and Homestead.

He's a winner at both. Last season, Biffle became the only non-Chaser to win a Chase race with his victory at Kansas (he also has a top-three finish in three of the last four Kansas races). At Homestead, Biffle has dominated, winning three consecutive races from 2004-2006.

This weekend could prove vital for Biffle's championship hopes. His career average finish at Dover of 12.1 is third-best for him behind Bristol (9.8) and Kansas (11.0).
